TITLE: Desktop Support Technician
LOCATION: Portland, ME (onsite)

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Provide primary computer, peripheral, process, and application support to customers by phone and in person.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software problems using multiple troubleshooting techniques and all available resources.
  • Take ownership of reported incidents and problems, maintaining consistent communications and ensuring resolution.
  • Work with other IT personnel to investigate and resolve performance problems with applications and/or systems.
  • Perform remote administration of PCs and other devices.
  • Provide lifecycle management of the county desktop computing environment. This includes security updates, virus scan reviews, and hardware maintenance as needed.
  • Builds and manages deployment packages to desktops and mobile devices using Intune and SCCM.
  • Administration AD (Active Directory) services for individual and group permissions.
  • Desktop support and administration and deployment of physical and virtual desktops
  • Performs Asset Management duties as needed
  • Recognizes ITIL Operations and has a good foundation and experience in an ITIL environment. 
  • Monitors, tunes, diagnosis and resolves intermediate operating system problems.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • 3+ years of technical support experience
  • Windows 10 and Office 365 troubleshooting
  • Experience preferred with desktop and laptop troubleshooting
  • Active Directory permissions and services knowledge
  • Imaging experience with MDT, SCCM, Intune, or similar tool
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required
  • Ability to troubleshoot PC/LAN problems over the phone
  • ITIL understanding, certification is a plus
  • A+ certification is preferred
